The most important effect: presumably, it will be much, much cheaper. Having a low price is the only way it will take over the market

A great read as always. Its a shame that the end of animal ag will be through economic rather than moral considerations, but whatever gets the animals out of the system is a good thing.

Further reasons:

- It will probably be cheaper than regular meat. Potentially a lot cheaper. More money for us.

- Since we can engineer it however we want, we can probably make it healthier. I want to be in good health!

- Many people experience cognitive dissonance because they eat meat but know about the arguments that eating meat is bad. They may even experience guilt. Cognitive dissonance and guilt are bad, so reducing them is good for humans.

- Many people like the taste of meat and would eat it if it wasn’t for the moral or environmental arguments. Since these arguments don’t apply to lab-grown meat, more people who want to eat meat will get to eat meat, which is good for humans. (Maybe not a selfish reason, but still a reason that has nothing to do with animals, which people who don’t care about animals should still agree to.)
